Hmmmm... As much I loved Carlton for his effort, his decision making and thinking about the game, which you'd think is key for a role like this, isn't what I'd put down as his strongest attributes.

Cole is assisting Jack Collison. He hasn't been made DofFootball. He has loads of experience, as a loanee, a non-first choice, and in different leagues. Hes represents his country. He also totally messed up before so can hopefully advise what NOT to do as well.

cartis - the point is, I don't know. It seems to be something to do with Collison - you'd like to think he'd have an idea.
I can't see this having anything to do with those at the top, so I prefer to give the football people the benefit of the doubt as they probably know better than us.

He may have something to offer in the vein of ' these are the mistakes I have made....'.
When I was 15 we had 4 guests to one of the classes I was in at school. Each person introduced themselves, bit of background and what they are up to now. Lastly, each one then told us they were either a drug, alcohol, betting addict. I know it made an impact.

Cole was declared bankrupt not that long ago.
If stories had come out that he was broke and couldn't afford to pay his bills and the cob did nothing there would be many on here having a go at the board for not helping an ex player out.
I doubt he is getting paid much for doing a bit of coaching/mentoring to the youngsters. It's all harmless stuff.
His best work is doing the commentary on our games for WHUTV. He is pretty funny on those videos.
Whatever you think about the board they do a far better job at reaching out to our ex players than previous owners.

The bloke's a fucking idiot and was an embarrassing cunt centre forward for us.
Re-signing CARTHORSE Cole on a freebie, months after releasing the useless cunt, was up there with one of the most depressing signings that we've ever made in my lifetime. Even more so than when DONKEY DOWIE rejoined us in '95.
The fans who love him are the sort of divs who worshipped that fucking nut-case useless pile of RECKLESS shit, Tomas Repka.

I, personally, would never employ someone who went bankrupt only just a few months after retiring after earning millions to mentor the yoof of today on what they should be doing best for their careers.
